About Joseph W. Brown II
Joseph W. Brown, II was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He moved to Tallahassee, Florida at a very young age where he attained his formative education. After high school, Mr. Brown attended Florida A&M University. There, he was a student senator, a BIONR Scholar, a dean’s scholar, a member of the jazz lab band and a member of the symphonic band.
After graduating from FAMU with a B.A. degree in Music, Mr. Brown went on to pursue a Master’s in Historical and Theological Studies from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While at ORU, Mr. Brown was a graduate teaching assistant and a member of the symphonic band. Mr. Brown went on to pursue a Juris Doctorate from the Walter F. George School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, Vice-President of the Student Bar Association, a member of the Black Law Students Association and the Head Bar/Bri Representative.
Mr. Brown worked for the Public Defender’s Office of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, where he distinguished himself by winning the Best Advocate Award at the Public Defender’s College and by matriculating through the intake, misdemeanor, drug court and felony departments. He also had a successful record in jury trials, winning big and small cases alike.
Mr. Brown takes pride in his work, his community and his family. He is a member of the 100 Black Men of Tampa Bay, Inc., a member of the NAACP, a volunteer mentor at Booker T. Washington Elementary School, a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, a member of the American Bar Association, a member of the George Edgecomb Bar Association, and a member of the Polk County Democrat Executive Council. Mr. Brown is married to Tiffanie, and has two sons, Jay and Joshua.
